Sow Kindness, Watch It Grow.
Inter-Centre Storytelling Competition 2026
A bilingual storytelling competition for children aged 3 to 6 residing in Singapore. Free to enter — parents and guardians register directly on behalf of their child.
Sow Kindness, Watch It Grow.
This year's competition invites children to tell a story about kindness — how a single caring act, however small, can take root and blossom into something beautiful for those around us.
Stories can be told in English or Chinese. They can be true or made-up, and can include drawings, puppets, songs, soft toys, or just a child with a big imagination.
Every seed of kindness matters. Come share yours.
Four criteria, judged with care.
The story relates to kindness with a clear beginning, middle and end.
Voice, tone, facial expressions and body language.
A unique story choice and imaginative use of props.
Poise, eye contact and the ability to engage the audience.
Every storyteller leaves with something.
Winners chosen in each of the four groups — English & Chinese, Categories A (3–4) and B (5–6).

Can't find your question? Send us a note — we reply within two working days.
Is it really free to enter? ›
Yes — registration is completely free. A parent or guardian registers the child and completes a consent form.
My child is shy. Can they still take part? ›
Absolutely. A story can be told in the quietest voice in the room. The judges listen for kindness, not confidence.
Which language should my child perform in? ›
The competition is bilingual — your child performs in either English or Chinese and is judged within that chosen language segment.
Who can take part? ›
Children aged 3 to 6 (as at 20 September 2026) residing in Singapore. Parents or guardians may register directly on their child's behalf.
What should the video look like? ›
Phone recordings in landscape are perfect. A quiet room, soft natural light, and the child clearly in frame with audible sound is all we ask.
Can my child use props, drawings or puppets? ›
Please do. We love stories told with picture books, soft toys, paper puppets, costumes and quiet songs.
